Mr. Colton Daniels received his Masters in Sociology from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA)
He is President and Co-founder of Predictive Modeling & Analytics LLC, a privately owned consulting firm based in San Antonio, Texas that focuses on survey-based marketing research, data analytics, and data-driven decision making. From 2005 through 2018, Dr. Acevedo served as Associate Professor of Sociology, Director of the Sociology Graduate Program, and Program Director for the Multidisciplinary Studies Major at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Dr. Acevedo’s primary lines of research are in the sociology of religion, religion and health, sociology of Islam, and social psychology. His research is focused around quantitative methodology, statistical modeling and the use of large scale survey data. Recent publications have appeared in leading sociology and specialty area journals including Social Forces, Sociological Theory, Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Society and Mental Health, Sociology of Islam, Social Science Quarterly, Sociological Spectrum, Narrative Inquiry, The Journal of Comparative Family Studies, Religions, Journal of Family Issues and Anthropological Forum.
Dr. Acevedo has received independent and collaborative research funding from the National Science Foundation, The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health, The HE Butt Family Foundation, The Casey Foundation, The Society for the Scientific Study of Religion and the Association for the Sociology of Religion.
Evaluation research has included work on a two-year federally funded project examining trends in juvenile sexual offense in Bexar County. Dr. Acevedo served as Project Coordinator for this project and was responsible for all aspects of data collection, analysis and presentation of major findings via a major report to key stakeholders and the presentation of major results to public audiences. As Research Coordinator for the University of Texas Health Science Center, Department of Community Pediatrics Dr. Acevedo led a team that carried out a needs assessment of resources available to organizations providing treatment to at risk youth in Bexar County. The “Research Report on Catholic Schools” was a study commissioned by the Archdiocese of San Antonio that involved original data collection of residents in Bexar County to assess the perceptions residents have of parochial schools in the San Antonio metropolitan area.
Colton Daniels received his Masters in Sociology from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and is currently working as a data analyst for the Institute for Health Disparities Research (IHDR) and teaching Data Management and Introduction to Social Research at UTSA. He has expertise in the following statistical software packages: R, STATA, and SPSS. His interests range from the impact biomarkers and psychosocial factors have on deviant behavior to the health implications of diseases (e.g., HIV) on mortality.
Current projects include the effect of HIV on military personnel's mental health and risk-taking behaviors; the relationship between HIV and erectile dysfunction (ED) on mental health for military personnel; and exploring the impact education and religion have on substance misuse. He also heads a digital marketing division of a San Antonio based Office Products business that analyzes trends in consumer purchasing patterns.
Sandra Acevedo is an International Business Development Leader who develops global relationships with extensive experience in project development, strategic planning, and program evaluation. From 2008 to 2017 She served as Coordinator, Global Outreach and Partner Liaison, School of Human Performance & Leisure Sciences at Barry University, Miami Florida. In that role she fostered relationships with leaders from higher education, corporate and government sectors and served as the school's liaison with Institutional Advancement. Under her leadership, she worked with teams to manage projects related to assisting in developing educational programs for the development of diverse communities. At The University of South Florida she served as Communication & Marketing Specialist for the Dr. Kiran C. Patel Center for Global Solutions (Tampa, Florida 2006-2008). In that role Ms. Acevedo advocated for the Center's mission to support distinguished research and educational programs that promote sustainable, healthy communities in a globalizing world. She was responsible for the creative design and implementation of the Center's broad marketing portfolio with a cohesive internal and external communications process. While working to secure external funding opportunities. She also collaborated with academic, public, private and non-governmental sectors to work in partnership in finding solutions to pressing global problems, such as providing clean water solutions in communities like Miches, Dominican Republic and La Manzanilla, Mexico.
At ChurchStats, Ms. Acevedo will work with team leadership to build and implement a marketing and business plan committed to long-term success for our clients. Ms. Acevedo will use her extensive experience to secure, coordinate and manage client experiences with focus on the southern and southeastern regions.
